What, if any, was the boldest pickup move you ever made? How did it turn out for you?

It may sound pedestrian, but for a shy guy like me, making any sort of bold move is an adventure. Back in college, I had this huge crush on a girl I sat next to in history class. Every day, I would listen to her conversations with other people, purposefully insert myself on group projects with her, and think about what sort of conversations we could have if only I'd just talk to her. But I never once made a move, and I regret it to this day. What's the worst that could've happened? That she rejected me and wasn't part of my life? She wasn't a part of my life anyway!

I promised myself that if I were ever in a similar situation again, I'd suck it up and ask the girl out. A couple of years later, I got my chance. I had a huge crush on the girl I sat next to in journalism class, but I just could not muster the courage to talk to her. On the last day of class, I finally decided that I would not -- and could not -- live in regret this time around. I walked up to her as she was leaving and told her I'd been interested in her the whole semester, but felt kind of awkward asking her out...and proceeded to ask her out VERY awkwardly (I think part of it involved me saying, "Please don't laugh at me, but I kinda like you..."). She smiled the whole time, sensing my nervousness, and I was relieved to hear her response: "I'd love to." We didn't move past the first date, but it was empowering just to finally take that step. Though it didn't work out between us, I don't regret it because at least I TRIED. That's the kind of stuff I'd like Mystery to teach me, but on a whole 'nother level. I want to make the move and feel CONFIDENT.

Nice story Fitch. Ive sat by many girls and lacked courage. My bestfriend was more than a school boy crush. I ruined that friendship when she denied me. C'est la vie. Too bad Im under 21 or that rib pic would take me to the top
