Anyway, I watched the Dr. Phil show and all I can say is "ugh".
It started off pretty good. It showed a conference where the Mystery Method guys demonstrate a few techniques and labels they give for the techniques. Then, it showed how it worked in action.
After that, Dr. Phil interviewed the women who were hit on at the bar by the students. They gave very positive reports. Then he talked to the students, who also gave positive reports.
Dr. Phil was very nice to the community, it was really great to see someone of his stature have a very positive attitude towards the whole self-help community.
He did before and after polls with women, and after talking to some of the guys and the women, the women in the audience started warming up to the pick-up artists.
But then, disaster struck. Ross Jeffries came out. Holy hell. He was CREEPY! Bad haircut, bad suit, and bad body language.
He started off by saying he wanted to put "other guys out of business". Then he went into a tirade that made himself look really bad, but also tainted the community. The teachers of the Mystery Method try to look like decent guys, but they end up getting tainted.
The women who had originally been picked up by the students said that Ross Jeffries was "creepy" and one said she "never wanted to go to a bar again" after seeing him.
By the end, the audience went to having a worse opinion about the pick-up artists due to Ross Jeffries inept portrayal. His glory-hog tactics, self-righteous posturing, and very disgusting advertisements gave him the image of a snake-oil salesman. Ugh.
